Due to an 'unplanned drop' of a FAB-250 from a Russian plane in the village of Kazatskoye, Yakovlevsky urban district, on November 26, residents of several streets were evacuated, totaling about 100 people, reported ASTRA*. Sources in the region's emergency services claim that the aerial bomb fell near a residential house but did not explode, so no one was injured. The FAB has now been removed, and residents have returned to their homes.
Another aerial bomb was found on the same day a few kilometers from the village of Nikolskoye in the Belgorod district, and a third bomb was dropped on the Bystryy farmstead; in both cases, there were no casualties or damages.
According to ASTRA, in 2024, Russian military dropped 159 aerial bombs on Russian territory and Russian-controlled areas of Ukraine.
On November 19, an aerial bomb 'unplannedly dropped' on a school in the village of Bykovka in the Yakovlevsky urban district. According to sources, it pierced the roof and got stuck in the building itself.
The Russian army began equipping Soviet FAB aerial bombs with UMPK complexes to counter the Ukrainian air defense system. FABs were fitted with wings and satellite guidance, allowing bombs to be launched directly from Russian territory, but often the bombs do not reach Ukraine. On May 4, a Russian plane dropped a FAB-500 on Belgorod, resulting in 7 people being injured, 31 properties and 10 cars damaged.
