The list next to Davidis's name has an 'asterisk', indicating that he is accused under one of the terrorist articles. However, nothing is known about any criminal case against the human rights activist.
Davidis also has no assumptions about why a criminal case might have been initiated against him, he confirmed to 'Mediazona'* that he was not informed of any investigative activities.
In 2021, Davidis spent 10 days under arrest for calling for support of politician Alexei Navalny**. In March 2022, he testified as a defense witness in Navalny's criminal case. A few days after the hearing, the human rights activist announced his departure from Russia.
Currently, Davidis leads the program supporting political prisoners at 'Memorial'.
In the incomplete year of 2024, 2,097 people have been added to the Rosfinmonitoring register — this is already more than for the entire year of 2023. Each month, the list is supplemented by an average of 284 new names, this year it is growing 1.8 times faster than in 2023, and twice as fast as in 2022.
Currently, there are almost 16,000 'terrorists and extremists' listed in the register.
