2 billion have been spent on 'assistance to families, fighters, and events related to recruitment for contract service', as reported by Mayor Ilsur Metshin at the 'Kazan for OURs' forum.
The forum opened with an exhibition of combat gear and 'achievements of the people's defense industry', showcasing homemade candles, stoves, drones, stretchers, camouflage 'Leshy suits', and even seated a 'wounded' mannequin without a leg with a bandaged head in a wheelchair.
Metshin stated that the work 'must be daily', and 'streams' need to be united 'into a big beautiful ocean of help for our fighters for the sake of victory'.
According to 'Idel.Realii'*, since the start of Russia's full-scale invasion, 3149 natives of Tatarstan have died in Ukraine.
In neighboring Bashkortostan, more than 2300 applications have been submitted for receiving a payment for a 'friend' sent to war. For recruitment in the republic, they pay 50,000 rubles for each new contractor under the 'Recruit' program. According to the DOSAAF of the republic, since August 2024, when the program started, more than 2300 applications have been submitted for such a payment. Ufa and the Ishimbaysky district became leaders in the number of applications submitted.
Taking into account payments from federal, regional, and municipal budgets, the one-time payment for the contractors themselves now exceeds 1.2 million rubles in Bashkortostan.
At the same time, Bashkortostan remains one of the leaders in terms of losses in the war with Ukraine. According to 'Idel.Realii', the number of deceased residents of the republic is 3604 people.
