“This sentence is an outrageous injustice and a manifestation of cruelty. We closely followed the court proceedings and it is obvious to us that the case against Nadezhda Fedorovna is completely fabricated. There is no objective evidence of her guilt, no audio or video recordings of her statements. The only evidence from the prosecution was the testimony of Akinshina, which contradicted itself and changed multiple times during the trial. <-> What danger does a person who has dedicated their life to preserving the lives of our children pose to society? You release murderers, rapists, and robbers who commit new murders, rapes, and robberies after release. We are calling for the release of a pediatrician so she can continue treating children,” says the video published by Echo FM.
On November 12, Judge Olga Fedina of the Tushinsky District Court in Moscow sentenced pediatrician Nadezhda Buyanova, accused of spreading military “fakes,” to 5.5 years in a penal colony. She is also banned from administering websites for two years. The prosecution requested six years in a penal colony.
The case against the 68-year-old medic was initiated after the ex-wife of a soldier killed in Ukraine, Anastasia Akinshina, claimed that the doctor allegedly “made negative comments” about the Russian army during an appointment. The pediatrician and her defense insisted that the case was based solely on false testimony from the child's mother. Buyanova did not plead guilty, confirming that she had seen Akinshina, who reported her, but did not say the phrases attributed to her.
On October 30, during the trial of Buyanova, Vladimir Putin signed a decree promoting Judge Olga Fedina to the position of a judge of the Moscow City Court.
