Two Russian servicemen received life sentences for a mass murder in occupied Volnovakha. On Friday, the Southern District Military Court in Rostov-on-Don found contract soldiers Stanislav Rau and Anton Sopov guilty of mass murder in occupied Volnovakha, reported «Kommersant»
The murder occurred on the night of October 28, 2023: armed with special automatic weapons designed for silent shooting, the soldiers broke into a private house and shot everyone inside: 53-year-old Eduard Kapkanets with his 51-year-old wife Tatyana, their adult sons with their wives, a nine-year-old granddaughter, a four-year-old grandson, and a distant relative visiting the Kapkanets family.
According to the publication, Stanislav Rau is 28 years old, he was born in the village of Volchikha, Altai Krai, and lived in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Anton Sopov is 21 years old, he is from the village of Yaroslavsky, Primorsky Krai. In February 2023, he was convicted of hazing — violation of statutory rules of relationships between servicemen causing moderate harm to health.
