The Pacific Fleet Military Court in Vladivostok sentenced 52-year-old Roman Lozovoy and 32-year-old Kirill Getman in the case of setting fire to a military recruitment office window frame in the city of Artem, reported «Kommersant» citing the court's press service. They were found guilty of a «terrorist act committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy».
Lozovoy was sentenced to 14 years of imprisonment, two years of which he will spend in prison, and the rest in a high-security penal colony. Getman was sentenced to 13 years of imprisonment considering a previous suspended sentence of six months for a drug-related charge. He will also spend the first two years in prison, and the rest in a high-security penal colony. According to the publication, both defendants pleaded guilty.
According to the investigation, in 2023 an «unidentified person» contacted Lozovoy via the messenger Telegram, «who is an opponent of the Russian Federation's special military operation in Ukraine», and offered a reward of 50,000 to 100,000 rubles to set fire to the military recruitment office building in the city of Artem.
Authorities claim that Lozovoy, who has a limp, found it physically difficult to carry out the arson himself, so he involved his acquaintance Getman, who is also an «opponent of the special military operation». In September last year, Lozovoy and Getman attempted to set fire to the military recruitment office building with two bottles of «Molotov cocktail». The fire did not occur, and the flames quickly extinguished. The damage to the military recruitment office building was estimated by the investigation at 112,000 rubles. The arsonists did not receive the reward and were detained a few hours after committing the crime.
