The rate of recognizing Russian citizens as 'terrorists and extremists' has significantly increased, noted the channel 'Update of the terrorist and extremist list'.
Before the start of the war, about 20 people were added to the list per week on average, and the rate was almost unchanged. For instance, in the pre-war year 2021, approximately 21 'terrorists' were added in one week, in the war year 2022 — almost 19 people per week. In 2023, the number slightly increased to 23 people per week. But in 2024, the rate consistently holds at a much higher pace — 41 added 'terrorists' per week.
The rate of recognizing people as 'extremists' also increased, but not as significantly, and the 'extremist' indicators only increased their pace from February.
As the channel notes, this is related to the policy of identifying 'terrorists', which began to recognize people attempting to set fire to relay cabinets, even if the attempt was unsuccessful, as well as those accused of 'justifying terrorism'.
