The State Duma decided to prohibit 'foreign agents' and relocators from enriching themselves at the expense of their own property

The first will face complications in receiving funds from intellectual activities, the second will be prohibited from renting and selling property

The Speaker of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin announced the development of a bill on a special procedure for the payment of funds received by 'foreign agents' earning from intellectual activities. According to him, it is proposed to introduce a 'special procedure for the payment of funds that foreign agents receive from the use of intellectual activity results and brands', including income from works of science, literature and art, performances and phonograms, broadcasts on radio or television, as well as inventions and trademarks. All income from creative activities will be credited to a special ruble account, the opening of which will become mandatory for 'foreign agents', and receiving funds in any other way will be prohibited.

'Those who destroy Russia by insulting its citizens, participants in the special military operation, should not enrich themselves at the expense of our country', Volodin stated, overlooking the fact that 'foreign agents' earn from their intellectual property, not the state's.

Another group of people that parliamentarians plan to affect in rights are citizens who have left the country and speak negatively about Russia. Volodin considers it necessary to prohibit them from 'enriching' themselves at the expense of both movable and immovable property located in the Russian Federation, as well as selling it.

Arguing the timeliness of the measures, Volodin mentioned a recent poll in his Telegram channel about introducing a ban on payments to 'foreign agents' for copyrights. According to him, 93% of respondents supported this idea. He also stated that the law 'may already begin to be considered in the State Duma next week'.
