The Moscow City Court sentenced 34-year-old Alexander Kraychik to 13 years in a high-security colony on charges of "treason," reports "Memorial"* citing a reader.
According to the prosecution, on February 26, 2022, Kraychik donated 50 euros to an account at Deutsche Bundesbank, opened to collect funds in support of the Ukrainian army.
On April 21 of last year, an FSB officer came to his workplace and confiscated his phone. A few days later, the man was detained at Moscow's Vnukovo airport, removed from a flight to Istanbul.
Initially, an administrative protocol for petty hooliganism was drawn up against him: allegedly, he was swearing at the airport. The court sentenced Kraychik to 5 days in a special detention center. After that, he was arrested three more times in a row on trumped-up charges. On June 10, Alexander Kraychik was supposed to be released from the detention center, but FSB officers detained him and took him to an unknown location. On June 12, 2023, the court sent Kraychik to a pre-trial detention center.
As "Mediazona"* writes, in June of last year it became known that Kraychik was placed in a pre-trial detention center in Perm on a criminal case of "treason." In August 2024, Kraychik's case was submitted for consideration to the Moscow City Court.
