Sergey Abramov, an employee of the Ural State Mining University, was detained in the university building on charges of «fakes» about the Russian army using his official position, reports 66.ru.

According to the channel Ural Mash, which is close to the authorities, Sergey Abramov, according to the prosecution, allegedly conducted «propaganda of Ukrainian values and discredited the Russian Armed Forces among students» in his classes.

According to the investigation, in March 2024, the teacher spread «fakes» about the army, in particular, saying that «Donetsk and Luhansk regions were occupied by Russia after the annexation of Crimea».

Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences Sergey Abramov worked at UGMU since 2006. On July 10, 2024, he was dismissed from the position of head of the personnel management department. According to Ural Mash, Abramov is now «listed as part-time at the college affiliated with the university». On the UGMU website, Abramov's position is listed as «senior lecturer».
