The Ministry of Justice added publicist Alexander Arkhangelsky to the register of 'foreign agents'

'Foreign agents' also include three journalists — Alexander Gorbachev, Alexey Seregin, and Anna Zueva

All four 'foreign agents' opposed the war in Ukraine and 'created a negative image' of the Russian army.

Writer and publicist Alexander Arkhangelsky was the author and host of the program 'Meanwhile' on the 'Culture' TV channel for almost 20 years. He was a member of the Council for Culture under the President from 2012 to 2018. He taught at the Faculty of Media Communications at the Higher School of Economics until April 17, 2023. According to the Ministry of Justice, Arkhangelsky spreads 'unreliable information' about decisions made by the Russian authorities, and also 'participated in the creation and dissemination of messages and materials of foreign agents to an unlimited audience.'

Journalist from Mari El Alexey Seregin, who collaborated with 'MK in Mari El', '7×7'*, 'Idel.Realities'**, does the same in Yoshkar-Ola.

Journalist Alexander Gorbachev, former editor-in-chief of 'Afisha', former editor of the special correspondents department of 'Meduza'**, also spread 'unreliable information', 'created a negative image', collaborated with 'foreign agents'. As another circumstance, the agency indicated that Gorbachev resides outside of Russia

Journalist from Buryatia, vice-president of the 'Free Buryatia' Foundation*** Anna Zueva, in addition to all standard accusations, according to the Ministry of Justice, is a 'participant in organizations included in the register of foreign agents'.

The unified register of 'foreign agents' has been maintained since December 1, 2022, and includes individuals, registered and unregistered non-profit and non-governmental organizations. Currently, it contains 881 entries. 'Foreign agents' are required to publish texts and messages with a notification that they are produced by a 'foreign agent'. Fines are imposed for evading the duties of a 'foreign agent', and repeated violations of the law result in criminal liability.
