A panel of judges from the 2nd Western District Military Court sentenced 23-year-old Ibrahim Orudzhev to 16 years in prison on charges of «training for terrorism» and «preparing for a terrorist attack», reported a «Mediazona»* correspondent from the courtroom. The young man will spend the first 3 years of his sentence in prison, the rest in a high-security colony. The prosecution requested that Orudzhev be sentenced to 18 years in a high-security colony.
According to the investigation, on November 10, 2023, Orudzhev «conducted reconnaissance of the area using a mobile phone» near the military enlistment office as part of «preparing for a terrorist attack». Orudzhev himself claims that he was only filming the enlistment office schedule to register there.
The young man was initially arrested for 10 days under an administrative article for «disobeying a police officer's order», and upon leaving the detention center, he was detained on criminal charges.
As Orudzhev stated in court, after his arrest, men in masks began to demand in turn that he name his «curator». The accused said that during the interrogation, blows were inflicted with «special means», including a spring stick with a ball, which was used to hit the solar plexus, and he was also threatened with being pricked with an «AIDS-infected needle».
On the young man's phone, images with «Ukrainian symbols» were found, as well as footage of approaches to the enlistment office, manholes on the asphalt, and a patrol car. Orudzhev was also found with manuals on creating IEDs and Molotov cocktails.
«I believe that the accusation is the result of officials apparently being hostages of their own position, in which they are obliged to perform certain actions», Orudzhev said in his final statement.
