Ukraine claimed that Rzhitsky was involved in the shelling of Ukrainian cities, including Vinnytsia, where 27 people died

The Krasnodar Regional Court found 64-year-old citizen of Ukraine and Russia Sergey Denisenko guilty of 'murder', 'treason', and 'illegal arms trafficking', the press service of the regional courts reported. In addition to the actual sentence, the court ordered Denisenko to pay 5 million rubles to the father of the murdered military officer and fined the accused 500 thousand rubles.

Denisenko is accused of murdering the deputy head of the mobilization work department of the Krasnodar mayor's office, Stanislav Rzhitsky, who previously commanded the submarines 'Alrosa' and 'Krasnodar'.

The Ukrainian project NGL.media named Stanislav Rzhitsky as one of those responsible for the strike on Vinnytsia in 2022, which resulted in 27 deaths. Relatives of the officer claimed that he resigned from service in August 2022, and submitted his resignation report in December 2021, and after that did not go to sea.

Sergey Denisenko was born in Sumy, lived in Ukraine before the war, and was a karate coach, but moved to Russia and obtained citizenship. According to the prosecution, in October 2022, he joined an organized group whose leader instructed him to kill Stanislav Rzhitsky. As stated in the case materials, 66-year-old Sergey Denisenko was monitoring the retired submarine officer Stanislav Rzhitsky in Krasnodar, and on the morning of July 10, 2023, shot him while he was on a morning run.
