The FSB claims he attempted to pass secret information to the CIA

The Moscow City Court sentenced 47-year-old IT specialist Firuz Dadoboev, who holds dual citizenship of Russia and Tajikistan, to 13.5 years in a penal colony. He is accused of treason, reported 'Interfax' citing the FSB press service. According to the investigation, Dadoboev 'attempted to pass information constituting a state secret to the Central Intelligence Agency of the USA.' In addition to the sentence, the man was also fined 300,000 rubles.

'It was established that Dadoboev, possessing information obtained illegally and constituting a state secret, with criminal intent, intended to pass it to a representative of American intelligence. For these purposes, he established contact with the CIA,' stated the special service.

Dadoboev was detained in October 2022, allegedly while attempting to transfer the collected secret materials. 'Dadoboev admitted his guilt and repented for his actions,' reported the FSB.

The special service did not disclose Dadoboev's place of work, mentioning only that it is a 'commercial structure.' 'Mediazona'* found Firuz Dadoboev's page on LinkedIn. The man wrote that from 2007 to 2010 he worked at Domodedovo airport as a technical support engineer for the airline 'Siberia,' which was renamed S7 Airlines. In 2011-2012, he also worked as a system administrator for an online ticket sales service. His last place of work listed on LinkedIn is the company 'Elida Group' in Domodedovo, where Dadoboev headed the IT department. The publication suggests it is a store of the Kizlyar Cognac Factory.
