The Investigative Committee initiated a case for a bribe of 10 million rubles against the former head of the communications planning department of the Ministry of Defense, Ogloblin, the agency told TASS. He has been detained.

The investigation believes that in 2016-2021, Ogloblin received a bribe of more than 10 million rubles from representatives of OJSC Perm Telephone Plant "Telta" for "providing general patronage in the execution of a multimillion-dollar state defense order for the supply of communication devices for the needs of the Russian Ministry of Defense."

In February 2022, Ogloblin was sentenced to 4.5 years in a colony for embezzling 1.6 billion rubles allocated for the purchase of telecommunications equipment for the army. In 2024, he was released from the colony after he testified against General Shamarin, who, according to the investigation, received a bribe of 36 million rubles from the CEO and chief accountant of "Telta." Ogloblin's term in the colony was replaced with corrective labor.

After being free for six months, Ogloblin again came under investigation for a bribe from "Telta," as did Shamarin.
