Ukrainian drones attacked six regions of Russia overnight, the Ministry of Defense reported 32 drones shot down, 11 of them destroyed over the Volgograd region. The head of the region, Andrey Bocharov, stated that the military repelled a "massive UAV attack on transport and energy infrastructure." In the city of Kotelnikovo, problems with gas supply began after the arrival of drones.
The military department's report did not mention the Penza region, yet the governor, Oleg Melnichenko, reported an attack on "one of the industrial enterprises, after which a fire started."
Judging by the video in local public forums, UAVs attacked "EVT named after V. A. Revunov," which produces computing equipment for the Ministry of Defense. On April 11, 2023, the enterprise was included in Canada's sanctions list of "organizations involved in Putin's war."
Meanwhile, as ASTRA* writes, nearby is the only Russian defense plant manufacturing command posts for air defense units. According to Andrey Kovalenko, head of the Center for Countering Disinformation at the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, the attack specifically targeted it.
The head of the region reported that "for security reasons, temporary mobile internet restrictions are in place in the region." Melnichenko also "reminded" residents that "posting photos and videos from the scene on social media is prohibited to avoid aiding the enemy."
