The Komsomolsky District Court of Tolyatti found a local pensioner guilty under the article of "discrediting" the army and fined her 30,000 rubles, reports "Idel.Realii"*.
In mid-February, the woman posted a comment on a news item about participants in the war in Ukraine in a "VKontakte" public group, noting that "contract soldiers are not fighters, but hired killers".
According to the conclusion of the expert involved by the police, the pensioner characterized the actions of the Russian Armed Forces "as related to killing for money". "The negative assessment is expressed by the lexeme 'killer', which has a stable negative meaning, intensified by the use of the contrast technique," the expert's conclusion notes.
In court, the pensioner stated that she left the comment "without thinking, foolishly, regrets her actions, will not do it again, and has deleted the comment".
During the trial, it was revealed that the woman's pension is 15,500 rubles, she has no other income, lives in a rented apartment, and does not work. Despite this, the court imposed a fine equivalent to two pensions.
