The Khanty-Mansiysk District Court fined 59-year-old Valery Ledkov 120 thousand rubles, accused of financing extremist activities due to FBK donations, reported the human rights project "OVD-Info"**.
The prosecution requested four years in a colony for Ledkov. During the investigation, he was under house arrest.
The case against Ledkov, a specialist in the folklore of the Ob-Ugric peoples, was initiated in December 2024 due to a transfer of an FBK donation of 300 rubles on August 5, 2021. Later, he was accused of transferring another 1.8 thousand rubles. In total, according to law enforcement, Ledkov made six donations to FBK after it was recognized as an "extremist" organization.
At the end of May, a court in the Nenets Autonomous Okrug sentenced the folklorist's son, librarian Konstantin Ledkov, to five and a half years in a colony, accused under three articles: "discrediting" the Russian army, calling for activities aimed against state security, and repeated demonstration of prohibited symbols.
The reason for his prosecution was social media posts, one of which was reported to the FSB by 41-year-old mathematics and computer science teacher at Naryan-Mar College, Grigory Zhdanov.
Today, in Moscow, law enforcement detained a young man accused of financing extremist activities due to an FBK donation, reported lawyer Kaloy Akhilgov. Later, the detainee reported that after the charges were presented, he was released under a travel ban.
