Judge Rafis Nabiev of the Kirovsky District Court in Ufa sentenced 46-year-old journalist Olga Komleva to 12 years in a penal colony on charges of cooperating with FBK and spreading military 'fakes', reported a correspondent from 'Mediazona'*** from the courtroom.
The prosecution requested 13 years in a penal colony for Komleva, the details of the charges are unknown as the trial was held behind closed doors.
Olga Komleva, a cadastral engineer by profession, was a volunteer for several years at the Ufa headquarters of Alexei Navalny**. She was detained several times at rallies in 2021 in support of the politician. The authorities considered Komleva, as well as Lilia Chanysheva* and activist Ilgam Yanberdin, as 'organizers' of protest actions. The Ministry of Internal Affairs and the National Guard filed lawsuits against Komleva for 5.6 million rubles, demanding compensation for the work of law enforcement at the protests. All her bank accounts and property, including her house and car, were seized.
Komleva collaborated with the publication RusNews and covered protest actions in Bashkortostan, including the protests in Baymak in January 2024.
The journalist was detained in March last year. She suffers from type 2 diabetes, and initially, her family had difficulty delivering her medication to the detention center.
