He spoke about beatings and domestic violence, the police had a conversation with the family, after which the teenager stopped getting in touch

A few months ago, 16-year-old Islam Musiev contacted the human rights group SK SOS*, complaining about regular beatings and domestic violence. In addition, the student reported that he was locked up at home and kept under constant surveillance.

He requested help with evacuation, providing photos of the beatings as evidence. SK SOS could not accept his evacuation request because human rights defenders do not have the right to remove minors from the region. This could lead to criminal cases for the staff.

Human rights defenders from the organization «Caucasus without a Mother» managed to draw the attention of the juvenile affairs inspection to Musiev's situation. Police Lieutenant Colonel Leila Mogushkova visited the teenager's home. A week after her visit, contact with the teenager was lost.

Shortly before his disappearance, Islam informed human rights defenders that relatives threatened to kill him. He asked to file a report if he was out of contact for more than two days and to publicize the case.

Leila Mogushkova, who visited the teenager, began to claim after his disappearance that she had never dealt with his case.
